He watches her from a distance.

She sits on a bench with a boy taller than her, a little older than her, crossed legged facing him and laughing at the dry humorous things he says to her.

She throws her head back when she laughs at whatever that party boy says to her. He’s not jealous, he can’t be jealous. He’s a powerful warlock who can get anyone tucked under his spell and not some foolish teenage boy gushing over a teenage girl like some pathetic one-sided highschool crush.

There’s something about her. The way she laughs, it seems everything lights up around her. She’s just another hormonal human girl who he shouldn’t waste his time on.

He shouldn’t, but he does anyways.
